First, St. Maria Church in Kupfergasse; home of the Black Madonna !
Then the EL-DE house at Appellhofplatz 23-25 which was the headquarters of the Cologne Gestapo from 1935 to 1945. The name became the epitome of the Nazi reign of terror in Cologne, but also for the way in which the city's Nazi history was dealt with after 1945.
The "Gestapo Prison" memorial in the cellar of the building is one of the best preserved detention sites of the Nazi era. Here, more than 1,800 wall inscriptions bear witness to persecution, torture and murder.
The prisoner cells and inscriptions of the prisoners are the most immediate and most vivid reminders of the horrors of the Nazi era associated with the EL-DE House.
Titan comes at the end to reveal the shocking truth as to why I felt the need to see these two places today, as well as how they are deeply connected to the previous two episodes, and my very soul......
