In the latest episode of The Innovators & Investors Podcast, host Kristian Marquez sits down with Sam Huang, Principal at BMW iVentures, for a candid conversation to explore the dynamic intersection of venture capital, artificial intelligence, robotics, and manufacturing innovation. Sam shares BMW iVentures’ investment thesis, focusing on Series A and B startups across the US, Europe, and Israel, with a strong emphasis on AI-driven SaaS, automation, and onshoring trends driven by labor shortages and supply chain disruptions. Listeners gain valuable perspectives on the evolving venture diligence process, the importance of product-market fit, and how higher ARR benchmarks reflect both market maturity and macroeconomic factors like rising interest rates. Sam also candidly discusses his unconventional career path—from a Stanford history PhD program to law school and ultimately venture capital—highlighting how diverse experiences enhance investment acumen. The conversation delves into the benefits of corporate venture capital, especially BMW’s hands-on support and networking advantages for portfolio companies. Additionally, Sam reveals how AI is integrated internally at BMW iVentures to optimize workflow and decision-making. This episode is a must-listen for anyone interested in the future of innovation, investment strategy, and the transformative impact of AI and robotics on global industries. As the season rapidly approaches, so does the end of our season preview series. It's time for San Jose State, the second week of the season and the second-toughest non-conference game of the season. They were one of the top G5 defenses a year ago, but like most G5 teams saw their roster decimated by transfers. How will the stack up in 2025 as Texas tries to find its footing and avoid a letdown after Ohio State?…

Our self-scouting continues as we take a dive into the Texas Longhorns' offensive line. The remaining players are talented, but have yet to live up to their full potential, as they try to gel with a group of relatively inexperienced, yet talented newcomers.…

The No. 5 Texas Longhorns come back to friendlier confines to take on the No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes -- who come into the game as favorites. The Longhorns survived the last round of the playoffs, while Ohio State has been on a tear, winning their first two games by a combined score of 83-38. The most-talented team in the country, according the 247Sports Blue Chip Ratio, the Buckeyes are living up to the billing. Can the Texas defense shut down one of the most dangerous offenses in the country or will Quinn Ewers and the Texas offense need to play their best game of the year?…

The Texas Longhorns head into the SEC with one of the most experienced quarterbacks in the country, third-year starter Quinn Ewers. Ewers has been battle-tested, leading Texas to a win in Tuscaloosa and being a one throw away from victory in the CFP semifinal game against Washington. The No. 7 Texas Longhorns got off to about as dominant start as anyone could've dreamed in a Top 25 matchup -- holding a 320 to 33 yard advantage with a minute left in the first half... Maalik Murphy and the Texas offense sputtered in the second half and gave the defense impossibly short fields to defend, allowing Kansas State to force OT. We’re finally at Texas Longhorns game week, so it's time to finish off our final previews — covering the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Rice Owls. First, we start with the future conference mate and one of the marquee non-conference matchups of the year. In 2022, Texas ran with Bama for the entirety of the game, looking like they may be more prepared for the SEC jump than previously believed. In 2023, there are questions on both sidelines as teams head into opening week. Rice comes to town with a familiar face at quarterback, JT Daniels, who Texas faced at USC and WVU prior to his transfers. So what do the reloaded Owls bring to the table in 2023?…

The Texas Longhorns baseball team went to Palo Alto for a Super Regional for a matchup against the Stanford Cardinal for a shot to advance to Omaha for the College World Series. After a come-from-behind win in the opener, the Longhorns couldn't get over the hump and dropped back-to-back games to the Cardinal, ending their season one win shy of Omaha. The loss to the Cardinal officially brings an end to the Longhorns' 2022-23 athletic year, with a second-place finish in the Director's Cup standings behind the aforementioned Cardinal. The strong finish wouldn't have been possible without the efforts of the women's track and field team, turning in yet another national championship headlined by the stellar performance of Julien Alfred. The Texas Longhorns are once again finding their stride on the diamond after going 3-0 in the Coral Gables regional and advancing to the Super Regional once again, making it one step closer to a return trip to Omaha. Texas seemingly put it all together on the road, highlighted by a career pitching performance in game two and a huge offensive explosion in game 3 to seal the deal. Now Texas heads to Palo Alto to take on Stanford, the only other team left in the tournament that made it to the College World Series a year ago. We also take a look at how Dillon Mitchell's return impacts the basketball team next year and dive in on the commitment of blue chip quarterback KJ Lacey to kick off the summer recruiting season. The Texas Longhorns were in action across the postseason landscape, with baseball, softball, track and field, rowing, golf, and tennis all competing for team and individual championships at both the conference and national levels. It wasn't as successful of a weekend as it has been in years past. Still, there's plenty to take pride in as Texas officially becomes one of just two schools in the country to send a team to the postseason in football, baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, volleyball, and softball for the 2022-23 academic year. We cruise through the results, as well as some staffing moves, roster updates, and run down the recently-released game times so you can start planning your fall. Now they face a must-win situation if they want to claim a regular season conference title and the top seed in the Big 12 tournament. The WVU Mountaineers are one of the most talented teams in the conference and have switched up their pitching rotation in hopes to win one game this weekend and claim the conference crown. It was a relatively successful week for the Texas Longhorns on the diamond, taking the series from the Kansas Jayhawks and keeping themselves alive for a regular season conference title. Lebarron Johnson had a stellar start on Saturday, helping Texas right the ship after a disastrous season opener on Friday, earning himself Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for his efforts. Texas managed to hold off Kansas on Sunday and get a needed conference win with just one series left on the schedule. The ladies went to Waco and suffered a season-closing sweep at the hands of the Baylor softball team, setting up a conference tournament opener against Texas Tech. Both the men's and the women's tennis teams advanced to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament, with hopes to take it back to Florida for a chance at the national championship. The Texas Longhorns put on a show for fans Saturday, capping off spring practice with the annual Orange-White game at Darrell K. Royal Texas Memorial Stadium. Unlike last year, Texas had the health and depth to field two full squads and a lot to show for their work during the spring session. Perhaps the biggest storylines of the game were the performances of Quinn Ewerrs, who was officially named the starter following the game, and the impressive arm of backup quarterback Maalik Murphy. There are still questions on both sides of the ball, with players held out or given non-contact jerseys due to injury concerns. Still, overall the vibe following the game is positive for Texas and setting up lofty offseason expectations. Connect with the show on Twitter and Facebook . After reaching their first Elite Eight for the first time since 2008, the Texas Longhorns were in a prime position to reach their first Final Four since TJ Ford was on campus, but a late-game meltdown - aided by the officials - sent the Miami Hurricanes to the next round. Following the suspension and eventual firing of Chris Beard, the Longhorns looked shaky for a few games but Rodney Terry managed to right the ship and keep the team running. After leading Texas to one of its best seasons in 15 years, Chris Del Conte and the Texas administration made the call to drop the interim tag and make Terry the full-time head coach of the Longhorns. What can we take from this year's results to help us understand how Terry can lead the squad in the future and what he can do immediately to keep the momentum going? The Texas Longhorns have the opportunity to do what just five teams before them have been able to do, reach the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament. Standing in their way, are the Xavier Musketeers, who bring one of the more effective offenses left in the tournament. Xavier and head coach Sean Miller are coming off a close win in the opening round over Kennesaw State and a runaway victory over Pittsburgh, and are hoping to improve on the last year of Miller's last stint in Cincinnati with a trip to the Elite Eight. Miller leans heavily on a seven-man rotation weighted heavily toward the starters, with just five players boasting a double-digit scoring average for the year. Guard Souley Boum and forward Zach Freemantle lead the way for the Musketeers, averaging 16.5 and 15.2 points per game respectively, while Freemantle chips in 8.1 rebounds per game. After strong runs in the conference tournaments, with the men bringing home the title, both of the Texas Longhorns basketball teams find themselves preparing for tournament runs that set up for fireworks. For the men, sitting as a No. 2 seed after winning the Big 12 tournament, getting out of the first two rounds for the first time since 2008 means a potential matchup against the Texas A&M Aggies, who drew the No. 7 seed in the same regional. If they can survive a tough matchup against the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Round of 64, then the stakes don't get any higher than a Lone Star Showdown for the rights to go to the second weekend of the tournament. The ladies came up one game short of the conference title but landed the No. 4 seed and the rights to host the first two rounds of the regional at the Moody Center in Austin. However, their path to the Final Four shapes up to be a slugfest, having to face a tough Louisville squad even to make it out of the first weekend. Connect with the show on Twitter and Facebook. With a dominant win over the Kansas State Wildcats, the Texas Longhorns' women's basketball team brought home their first regular-season title since the 2004 season -- just three seasons into the Vic Schaefer era. For their troubles, the Longhorns brought home three of the major conference awards, Coach of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Newcomer of the Year, in addition to three all-conference selections and a spot on the freshman team. They also now have the advantage of being the top seed in the Big 12 tournament, setting them up for a run at the tournament title and potentially a high seed in the NCAA Tournament in a few weeks. What are the expectations for the Longhorns in the postseason and how deep can the run be? We also dive in on the close finish for the men's team, unable to close the book on the regular season race, but positioning themselves on the opposite side of the bracket from both the Baylor Bears and the Kansas Jayhawks. Thanks to their recent shared success, both the Texas men and the Texas women sit atop the Big 12 standings as they head into the final stretch of the regular season. The men played four teams ranked in the top 11 in the country over a span of 10 days, going 2-2 in the stretch. The two wins included a home win over the Baylor Bears and a road win over the Kansas State Wildcats, the only Big 12 team to beat the Longhorns in Austin. With some help from the usual conference chaos, the Longhorns' 8-3 conference record has them currently settled atop the standings as they take on the bottom three teams in their next three games. Vic Schaefer and the Texas women are one of the hottest teams in the country right now, rattling off their sixth-consecutive win with a nine-point win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Austin. Their one-game margin at the top of the conference will likely come under duress sooner rather than later with Iowa State ahead who sits just two games out of first place in the league. The Texas Longhorns, both the men and the women, continue to put themselves in solid position to make a run at a conference title as we rapidly approach the back half of conference play. On both the men's and women's sides, the Texas Longhorns had a very successful week on the hardwood. Under interim head coach Rodney Terry, the men's team overcame not one, but two double-digit deficits to improve to 4-1 in conference play and 7-1 since Terry took over the squad. The Texas Longhorns closed out the year on a disappointing note, falling to the Washington Huskies in the Alamo Bowl. It was clear in the game that Texas missed the presence of Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson, struggling to find success in the limited attempts on the ground with Keilan Robinson and Roschon Johnson. That left the game on the arm of Quinn Ewers, who answered the call well and finished with the third-best bowl performance by a quarterback in school history, in spite of his early struggles in the game. Defensively, Texas put up yet another stellar performance against a top-tier offense, holding the No. 2 passing attack in the country to its season low and future Heisman candidate Michael Penix to his second-worst outing of the year. So what lessons did we learn about what Texas might look like in 2023 and how do we feel heading into the second full offseason of Steve Sarkisian's tenure at Texas? After head coach Chris Beard was suspended Monday following his arrest, the Texas Longhorns still had a basketball game to play, taking on the Rice Owls at home as the non-conference schedule winds to a close. In spite of, or potentially because of, the distractions, the Longhorns managed to edge out a narrow win in overtime and keep their home record spotless in non-conference play. With a week left before football's early signing period, we also welcome on friend of the show Mike Roach of Horns247 in order to help us discuss some of the high-priority targets still on the board for Texas, including five-star linebacker Anthony Hill, who Texas hopes to bring on campus this weekend for a visit. Can the Longhorns close the deal with the top defender in the state and add yet another five-star talent to the class? Connect with the show on Twitter and Facebook. The No. 2 Texas Longhorns were one of the hottest teams in the country, coming off of a big win over No. 7 Creighton as they left the Lone Star State for the first time to participate in the Jimmy V Classic. Where did it go wrong for Texas in the second half and what can Texas do to shore things up before conference play? The Texas Longhorns nearly fumbled away the game on Saturday, but leaned into their best players and came away with a statement victory over the Baylor Bears to close the regular season and send the seniors off in style. It was fitting that in what is likely the final game at DKR for both Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson, they carried the ball on the final 24 plays of the game, scoring the touchdowns to put the game away in convincing fashion. In the same vein, once again the Texas run defense was stout, giving up just 101 yards to a Bears team that emphasizes the run, forcing the ball into the quarterback's hands. The win secured Texas a three-game improvement over last year, hopefully setting the trajectory of the program for years to come. Connect with the show on Twitter and Facebook. The Texas Longhorns return to Austin for the regular season finale, a pivotal matchup against the Baylor Bears on Black Friday. In spite of frustrations this year, Texas has an opportunity to both end the season on a high note and keep their glimmer of hope for an appearance in Arlington alive. To do that, they will need to get their final revenge win of the year against the Bears, a team coming off of a heart-breaker loss to rival TCU. Will Dave Aranda's squad be able to rebound or will they come in flat? Coming off of a dominant performance riding the run defense and Bijan Robinson, Texas could use a repeat performance in potentially inclement weather on Saturday. The Texas Longhorns went to Lawrence and grabbed another road win, running all over the Kansas Jayhawks and notching their seventh win of the season. Running back Bijan Robinson put up a career performance and continued his climb up the Longhorns' record books, pacing Texas with his four-touchdown performance. It was one of the most dominant rushing performances in recent memory as the Longhorns found the footing they were missing a week ago. On the defensive side of the ball, Texas had an answer for every wrinkle that the Jayhawks threw their way, shutting down an often potent ground game with relative ease. The performance in Lawrence highlights just how for the Texas rush defense has come year-over-year, likely finishing several hundred yards shy of their single-season total from 2021. The Texas Longhorns have two more games to prove the trajectory of the program is in the right direction and it starts with a road trip to Lawrence to take on the Kansas Jayhawks. Kansas has lost four of the last five games after staring quarterback Jalon Daniels was sidelined with an injury, but the Jayhawks may have QB1 back in the fold for Saturday. The Texas defense had an all-time performance against TCU, but are they prepared for the shotgun, triple-option attack, regardless of who the quarterback is on Saturday? Offensively, the Longhorns have a ton to prove after essentially not showing up to the stadium against TCU in another must-win game. If Quinn Ewers and Bijan Robinson want to end the season on a high note, then they must be able to get back on track after lackluster performances in prime time. The Texas Longhorns' defense came into the game with TCU Horned Frogs ready to win a must-win game, but couldn't get matching energy from the offense in the frustrating loss. Defensively, the Longhorns held TCU to their season-low scoring and yardage outputs, putting up season-high performances in sacks and scoring the only touchdown for Texas in the contest. The defensive performance was masterful and hopefully can be indicative of things to come for the remaining two games and the future under Pete Kwiatkowski. However, the Longhorns turned in one of the worst defensive performances in recent memory, and one of the worst rushing performances in the history of Texas Longhorns football. The inaccuracy of Quinn Ewers on the deep ball allowed the Horned Frogs to box up Bijan Robinson and stymie the Texas offense. Connect with the show on Twitter and Facebook. The Texas Longhorns once again have an opportunity to break some new ground as the TCU Horned Frogs come to town on Saturday. A year ago, Texas got its first win in Fort Worth since 2013 thanks to the Herculean performance of Bijan Robinson in the narrow victory. Now, the Longhorns have the opportunity to not only knock off the first top-five opponent at home since 1999, Texas can notch its first back-to-back wins over the Horned Frogs since TCU joined the conference in 2012. Texas is the Vegas favorite in this game, but the wins in this game don't always go the way conventional wisdom dictates. For just the second time in the Steve Sarkisian era, the Texas Longhorns went on the road and came home with a victory, topping the Kansas State Wildcats to keep their hopes for a conference championship alive. The Longhorns managed to slow down the Kansas State ground attack, knocking star Deuce Vaughn from the No. 2 spot in the conference. Defensively, Texas still has room to grow but is likely the reason Texas came away with a victory, combined with another career night from Bijan Robinson. Robinson paced the offense, which once again went into the locker room at halftime with a lead, only to go dormant in the second half, putting up just two points in the final 30 minutes of the game. Coming off of the bye week, the Texas Longhorns are facing what feels like a make-or-break moment for this season. Heading out on the road to take on the Kansas State Wildcats, their chances to make the Big 12 title game are somehow still alive, but they likely would have to win all of their remaining games to do so. To win them all, you have to win the first one, and so comes the challenge of a resurgent Kansas State program, coming off of a 48-0 dismantling of the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Led by Deuce Vaughn, the other unanimous preseason All-Conference running back, the Wildcats' offense eats up the ground game, even with quarterback Adrian Martinez injured. Defensively, Kansas State is stout wherever they go, but especially in Manhattan, where they're allowing just 12 points per game. Texas has had no trouble scoring early in contests but has fallen back into the predictable pattern of second-half struggles leading to losses. Can Sark and Co. overcome their tendency to struggle late or will Texas come away from Manhattan with its season goals all but lost? Connect with the show on Twitter and Facebook. Basketball season is right around the corner and the Texas Longhorns are hoping to take a big step forward in Year 2 under Chris Beard. Some familiar names are no longer roaming the Forty Acres, with Andrew Jones and Courtney Ramey moving on to their next destination, but that doesn’t mean it's a total rebuild for Texas. The Longhorns bring back Marcus Carr, who will likely see his role change in the backcourt with the addition of Iowa State transfer Tyrese Hunter joining him at guard. The Texas Longhorns went into the second half with a lead against the Oklahoma State Cowboys and again came away with a frustrating loss. On the road in Stillwater, Texas struggled to maintain its discipline and composure in a hostile environment, while the offensive playmakers couldn't seem to get on the same page. Quinn Ewers played his worst game in Burnt Orange, which put a damper on a career day from running back Bijan Robinson. Defensively, Texas managed to get off the field on third downs, but quick turnarounds and a lack of second-half production from the offense put them in a hole they couldn't get out of. The Texas Longhorns' revenge tour continued Saturday, avenging one of the more embarrassing losses from a year ago, a drubbing on the road at the hands of the Iowa State Cyclones. It wasn't the best game from the Texas offense, with quarterback Quinn Ewers struggling to find open receivers but still managing to toss three touchdowns in the win. His efforts were buoyed by the efforts Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson, who literally and figuratively carried the team to a victory on the final drive. For the first time in four years, Texas managed to shut down the Iowa State passing attack, putting the game on the right arm of quarterback Hunter Dekkers, who played well in the loss. Iowa State nearly had the go-ahead touchdown, but Xavier Hutchinson could not come down with the pass. So what does this mean for Texas moving forward? It's time for the big rivalry matchup, as the Texas Longhorns head to the Cotton Bowl to take on the Oklahoma Sooners in the annual Red River Showdown. After a solid open to the season, Texas stumbled against the Texas Tech Red Raiders and seemingly squandered any goodwill they generated by looking good in the first three weeks of the season. Now, after getting back in the win column convincingly against the West Virginia Mountaineers, Texas can not only continue its bid at legitimacy, they can all but officially eliminate the Oklahoma Sooners from conference title contention in the first year under Brent Venables. Oklahoma started Big 12 play with two lopsided losses at the hands of the Kansas State Wildcats and the TCU Horned Frogs, who may be two of the best teams in the league when it's all said and done. After fans spent an offseason listing reasons why they were better off with Venables instead of Lincoln Riley, it's time for Venables to get the team moving in the right direction. The Texas Longhorns were in need of a solid win and managed to control the game wire-to-wire, coming away with a 38-20 win over the West Virginia Mountaineers. The Longhorns jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the first half, thanks in large part to three big passing plays, two from quarterback Hudson Card and one from wide receiver Xavier Worthy. However, Texas is no stranger to first-half leads turning into second-half nightmares, but the Longhorns managed to come out and score the only points of the third quarter, taking a four-score lead into the fourth quarter. Worthy seemingly had the breakout game he was waiting for, adding two receiving touchdowns to his passing score, while tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders did his part with 78 yards and two touchdowns of his own. Now, Texas turns its attention to the Red River Rivalry and a floundering Oklahoma Sooner squad coming off of back-to-back losses. The Texas Longhorns stated that their goal for the year was to play for the Big 12 Championship. After starting conference play 0-1, this weekend's game against the West Virginia Mountaineers is a pivotal test, not only for the season overall but for Steve Sarkisian as he tries to prove his direction for the program overall. WVU is trying to prove something of their own, that back-to-back losses won't define their season or their ability to achieve. The Mountaineers come to Austin with a transfer quarterback, JT Daniels, who played Texas when he was on the team at USC. Daniels put up big numbers with the Trojans, but was unable to put one in the end zone and came away with a double-digit loss. The Texas Longhorns once again have questions to answer after a second-half letdown. Texas held the lead heading into the fourth quarter, but aggressive playcalling and strategy from the Texas Tech Red Raiders and head coach Joey McGuire set the stage for the collapse. Fourth down conversions led to tired defenders and Texas Tech capitalized, forcing overtime and setting up Tech to win. Quarterback Donovan Smith played a career game for the Red Raiders, putting up a winning performance after throwing five interceptions in the previous two games. For Texas, finding consistency offensively is a must, especially on the ground, after living and dying by Bijan Robinson and the run game. How did the Red Raiders find a way to neutralize that threat and what can Steve Sarkisian and his staff do to fix that fatal flaw? The Texas Longhorns went into Lubbock and in spite of building a halftime lead came away with a 37-34 overtime loss to the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Texas managed to battle back in the first quarter, building a 10-point halftime lead, but the offense’s inability to extend a drive in the second half. Three of the final four drives of the game ended with punts, including a drive that gave Texas Tech the ball back with five minutes left in the game. The defense, who was on the field for nearly 100 plays, was unable to get a stop and the Red Raiders put a field goal through with 21 seconds left on the clock. Texas drove down and tied the game as time expired, but Texas Bijan Robinson fumbled the ball in the first overtime and set Texas Tech up for the game-winning drive. Now, at 2-2 on the year, Texas turns to West Virginia and tries to get back on track in conference play. The Texas Longhorns struggled with the UTSA Roadrunners early, falling behind 17-7 after an onside kick and a trick play that took advantage of a seeming lack of focus early. The Longhorns responded by scoring 17 unanswered points to take a 24-17 lead and never looked back. Texas leaned on its star players in this matchup, with running back Bijan Robinson doing the bulk of the work on the ground for Texas — amassing 183 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries. Roschon Johnson, who was a spark plug for Texas in the first half, did great work on his own, finishing with 81 yards on 11 carries. Defensively, the Roadrunners found success early completing short passes under the Texas defense, with their receivers capitalizing on space created by the Texas blitzes. Second-half adjustments allowed Texas to clamp down on that, holding UTSA to just three points in the second half. Now Texas turns its focus to conference play, hoping to take advantage of a tumultuous year in the Big 12. The Texas Longhorns have a lot of lessons they can take from the narrow loss against the Alabama Crimson Tide as they head into the next 10 games. Texas forced the reigning Heisman winner to create Heisman moments on two drives to overcome a fourth-quarter deficit, after forcing six-consecutive punts in the second and third quarters. The Texas offense had a lot going early, but injuries to the first two quarterbacks on the depth chart left Texas scrambling to make plays late. With opportunities to make plays all over the field, what were we the proudest of for the Longhorns, and what are the biggest opportunities moving forward? The Texas Longhorns came into the game as double-digit underdogs at home, but the No. 1 team in the country had to depend on its kicker and the Alabama Crimson Tide won it 20-19. Texas played the majority of the game without quarterback Quinn Ewers, who left the game in the first quarter due to an injury. The Longhorns took a 19-16 lead late, but Heisman winner Bryce Young led Alabama on a game-winning drive to close it out. The defense forced six consecutive punts and frustrated the offense for the majority of the game, save for two long drives in the second half. There’s plenty of success to build on moving forward, but there are no moral victories in football. The banged-up Longhorns now have to turn the page and avoid a hangover as they take on a talented UTSA squad that would love for Texas to start the season 1-2. The Texas Longhorns came out and took care of business in the season opener against ULM, cruising to a 52-10 victory to start the season off in the win column. Offensively, the Longhorns' first drive, and quarterback Quinn Ewers' first passes, left a lot to be desired, but after the young signal caller settled in, Texas was able to move the ball well against an outmatched defense. Tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders was one of the biggest highlights of the evening, with the most reception yards by a tight end since Jermichael Finley. Texas also started to hopefully gain some answers on the defensive side of the ball with DeMarvion Overshown and Barryn Sorrell leading the charge in the trenches. The Texas Longhorns were massive favorites over the ULM Warhawks in this one and did what you should do against an outmatched team, cruised to a 52-10 win in the season opener. After a shaky opening possession in which quarterback Quinn Ewers saw his first second-ever pass attempt intercepted, the Longhorns started to roll thanks — in large part to Ewers and his right arm. The freshman finished the game 16/24 for 225 yards and two touchdowns, connecting with Ja’Tavion Sanders and Bijan Robinson for scores. Speaking of Robinson, it was a light but productive day for the star running back, finishing his day in the third quarter with 10 carries for 71 yards and a touchdown for his efforts. Perhaps, the defense was the biggest story for Texas, keeping ULM out of the endzone until the fourth quarter when the second and third-string players were in. Now Texas turns its sites to the looming matchup with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices…
