This Podcast is autonomously driven by a couple Detroit aged flavors...ALWAYS live and unrehearsed, never edited, unprofessional and sometimes controversial...most of the times we stink, literally. A passion for music is our soulful transportation...well, until the mothership finds us... So, if we sound remotely interesting, jump in, buckle up, it’s always an unguarded moment.

We touched on Tears For Fears - . it was fun and we gave the props to a band that rocked the world in the 80s and 90s. ... if you want ACTUAL facts - look up "Professor of Rock - Tears for Fears" on youtube or Rick Beato -they both do an excellent job…but we hope you enjoy our take on the band. Also - there is a quiz - can you guess the theme thing ... El Carpe tries to stump Eric (who kills it and solved this easily) - but can you? Listen in - see if you can find the thread that ties these songs/bands together. Also, we showcased the Pixies, songs from Trompe le Monde Thanks for joining us in our impromptu podcast…through musical fun and silly chat between two buddies who just love music. Remember, our show is never rehearsed and always LIVE - we had fun tonight and hope you do too. Oh man them horns... ! "I love you baby!" Bring on the fun - Bring on the tunes. Join our super secret club - all ya gotta do is listen live and type into the chat "pour me another brother" - you're in ! U2 - Ya... they freakin' rock - look up U2 + gospel choir - I still haven't found what I'm looking for - for an emotional video. From Rattle and Hum Thanks for stopping by !…

The Kinks. super influential band and overall great on their own... Who did they influence?... inspire? and what bands took their simple and sometimes early pyschedilc creative rockin' vibe and made it their own? Tonight, Eric and I make a feeble attempt at honoring the band and whom they influenced. Shirley it was a fun time, with great tunes. Join in on this award whinning show and connect the dots through music. We found these bands as influenced by the Kinks: The Romantics, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Velvet Underground, Jane's Addiction, David Bowie, The Beach Boys, Camper Van Beethoven the Magic Shoppe, The Frowning Clouds, The Jam, the Knack, and the Pretenders and we finished with Killing Joke. Did we hit the mark? Were there other bands you can think of that we didn't address you feel should have been included? Let us know - we'll follow up because we respect your opinion...if you...respect us. Thanks to the both all of you for showing up and joining in to our world-class, award winning show. Next week we may take a deeper dive into Killing Joke or Tears for Fears or ....shit, who knows, we'll let you know! Stay Tuned, its another unguarded moment-…

LA Witch... great tunes, inspired another award approaching show by us... we played some songs by this LA 'garage' band that made a name for themselves in the clubs and have quite the dedicated following. Once we got started it spun off into a "hey, this other band has a similar sound... dontcha think?"... and it went off into the silly fun chatty stuff we do so well ... like 2 sugared up kids at the park. Other bands we played tonight: Yannis & the Yaw, Nirvana, Mazzy Star, the Misfits, Surfin Dead Boys, Messer Chups, Death Valley Girls, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Warm Drag and the Cramps... and likely others. Some new friends and old friends chime in to this Award Winning Show (hey, "participation ribbon" is an award) presented by idiots (me & Eric) and enjoyed by thousands. We had a bundle of fun - hope you do to listening to two buddies mince words and play tunes. You can be part of our Super Secret Schitty Committee - next time we are on - call in and say "Pour Me Another Brother" for fun and prizes. This underwear isn't getting any newer. (that's an inside joke? "yeah, in your PANTS") - what are we ... eight?…

Tonights podcast was about the band we saw at Masonic Temple in Detroit, MI. October 23rd 2024. The The from London, UK. The The and Matt Johnson put on a soulfully mix of songs that included 2 sets. The first in its entirety "Ensoulment" and the 2nd set from all their classics, including: Sweet Birds of Truth, Infected, GIANT and Uncertain Smile. A concert that will go down into the record books as one most respected and enjoyed. Remember, you never paid for any of this...its always LIVE and unrehearsed and unedited. We give the music to you the listener. It's always an Unguarded Moment. Thanks for supporting us, we appreciate it. See you next week-…

James... a band 'born of frustration' and Johnny Marr a legendary guitarist... (Smiths, Electronic, and others) we were fortunate enough to see them both in one night. You could too - as they are touring together in 2024. Tonight Eric and I chat about our experience at the show, play some live tunes from that night (and some from other nights of this tour). We had a blast at the show, and another one making this show for you. If you like any of the tunes we played tonight, or maybe become interested in the bands we talked about - go to their website and buy their tunes, merch and tickets to go see them live. We were NOT disappointed - and would expect any red-blooded music lover to feel the same. As always - we appreciate both of you listening and enjoying our award-winning world class show - and if you'd like to be one of our "special friends" - next time we are live - you just type into the chat "Pour Me another Brother" and you are in our club ! Rock on with your bad self.…

THE QUIZ SHOW ! Tonight El Carpe gets back at Eric with a "guess the theme" show - 8 songs all have something in common. The hints are useless. Listen in to see if Eric gets it or not. ERIC messes with El Carpe in a paragraph of song titles... can you follow along and get the list of bands? Dena Jo and El Carpe do their best to figure this out... how did you do? We also featured some tunes from Yannis & the Yaw - like - Walk through Fire and a couple others. El Carpe heard an amazing interview with Yannis on NPR this week and this music is a bit addictive... your thoughts? The Law Offices of Jamison, Walker, Statler and Waldorf have approved of this show (barely) and the 'disclaimer' indicates that we are claiming FAIR USE and just playing tunes because we want you to go out and support the artists we talk about - if you want to - buy their stuff if you like it. As always, you can join our super schitty committee by typing in our live show "Pour Me Another Brother" -- you don't get anything except recognition of your awesomeness... but that's something - right? Remember, you haven't paid for this... so when it's disappointing - you've nothing to complain about.…

Tonight we showcased a group of bands that are associated with one of the most unique, influential and creative music producers of all time. An eclectic mix of genres that together has become some of the most recognized songs we continue to hear today. From Rap, to R&B, to Metal and Funk. Songs that will never get old. Songs that tell a story. Bands like The Beastie Boys, Run DMC, The Cult, Adele, Johnny Cash, The Junk Yard Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, System of a Down and many many more...a producer respected on creativity and reputation. His name is Rick Rubin. Youtube: Rick Beato - Rick Rubin Interview Thanks for listening and check us out next week. Always live, never researched and never edited It's an Unguarded Moment…

Tonight we changed the format a bit and showcased a few bands, The Cure and their new song Alone, The Tragically Hip and a beautiful solo artist Sarah Mclachlan both from our neighboring country of Canada. For us in Detroit, a 20 minute ride to the border...The Hip is a rock band fronted by poet and songwriter Gord Downie that passed in 2016. Their music was revered as an anthem to the country of Canada...respectfully singing about both the Canadian folklore and history it has to offer. The Hip did their way. Respected in the world of music. Sarah Mclachlan is also one of the most respected female solo artists of the 1990's and 2000's and the creator of Lilith Fair. She also is Canadian. Her voice is undeniable on of the best. Please watch the 4 part series on Prime TV: The Tragically Hip: No Dress Rehearsal and also their last live show ....Man, Machine, Poem. You can find it on Youtube- Thanks for listening and remember, it's always an Unguarded Moment…

Tonight we played "Stump the Chump" and our Co Host El Carpe was the .....well, with a little help...you listen and decide (he cheated, just like his golf game). We showcased eclectic, iconic, diverse brilliant singer song writers that have stood the test of time. We previewed musicians and bands from the 60's through the 90's (except for one somewhat overrated "musician/artist"). They all have unique qualities that separate themselves from everyone else heard today, literally. Our focus was to remind you of lost music that you no longer hear on the radio (thanks Bill Clinton). Who the heck listens to the radio anymore anyway. These are all a reminder of the beautiful music that is becoming more difficult to experience. Buy that vinyl and invite friends over...read your liner notes. Who are we talking about? The Pixies, REM, Tom Waits, Joni Mitchell, Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance), Dave Mathews Band, Patti Smith, The Replacements (please go buy the album "Let it Be"), Queen (Rolling Stones voted number 1 band to see LIVE for nearly a decade), Carly Simon, Paul Simon, Nirvana, Sugarcubes and.....well, nevermind....not mentioning the last one. Remember, our show is never edited, rehearsed, researched...its always LIVE just like Memorex (probably too young to remember). So, dig into your parents vinyl and CD collection and give them a spin, you wont regret it. Most of today's music sucks. It's ALWAYS an unguarded moment. Thanks for listening. We might be on next week, and maybe on time, El Carpe.…

SUMMER TIME ! Sure, it's almost over, but we sure wanna talk about the songs that make us remember good fun summers - listen in and see if some of these tunes take you to a fun summer event in your life's history. Join us for a fun, silly and barely informative show about SUMMER TUNES ! (or at least what we could come up with after a long weekend of sun and fun.) We talked about and listened to bands like: The Surfaris, Bananarama, Tom Tom club, Fun Boy Three, Link Wray, Eddie Cochran, The Kinks, Booker T and the MG's, the Beach Boys (of course), Katrina and the Waves, Smash Mouth, The Hollies, the Stray Cats, Oingo Boingo, and more and more Link Wray... we love them tunes. Yes, another award winning show in the can and archived in the Library of Congress. We know we left out about 396 other amazing summertime classics... but we only have so much time... hopefully we touched on some that you might like and say "holy wow, I forgot about that one" and give them another listen or seven. Thanks for joining in, and remember - to join our super schitty committee - all ya gotta to is call in, or message us during the show... "Pour Me Another Brother" - and you are part of our crew !…

Music is hope. Music is peace. Music is invigorating... inspirational and soothing. Tonight, we interviewed Bruce Farrell, musician, friend, inspiration, and severe head trauma recoverer. Bruce tells us about his history in the local Detroit music scene, his passion and joy in performing his craft in front of others - and the struggle to play again when his body wouldn't let him. We barely scratched the surface of an amazing story of recovery through the love of music and performance. There is such a rich history of musical artists in Detroit. The struggles, the victories - this show barely touched on any of them - except for one man (Bruce) who's passion for the art brought him back from the brink. Give this one a solid listen. Not only is it a good story, but Eric and I were ACTUALLY almost prepared for this one. We spent more time working on this show than any show before - so that's saying something. Find Bruce here - we love him, we hope you may come to love him too. And if you do - buy some of his stuff. Bruce Farrell Music Bruce Farrell Music Information about and links to the music I play…

Tonight was an amazing but slightly silly discussion about some great soundtracks for movies really give you the "mood" of the show. We certainly missed a lot of good movie soundtracks, but this is what we could come up with in such short notice. We opened with Six and the Sevens from Detroit - who may be playing their last show on 8-17-24 at the Cadieux Cafe... I'll be there - if you are in the greater Detroit area - join us ! We played music from movies like: Napoleon Dynamite, The Blues Brothers, Grosse Point Blank, Eddie & The Cruisers, Some Kind of Wonderful, Pretty In Pink, 16 Candles, The Breakfast Club... Honorable mentions of Risky Business, Repo Man, and a couple of others... As always, the Law Offices of Jamison, Walker, Statler and Walrorf have kept us out of prison for another week. Join us for another Award Winning show next week.…

On tonight's award winning show - Eric quizzes El Carpe's knowledge (or lack thereof) on music intros by using a great YouTuber's show "Rick Beato - 20 best keyboard intros"- go give that Rick fella a listen - he's got a tremendous catalog of amazing shows and interviews. go here: TOP 20 KEYBOARD INTROS OF ALL TIME TOP 20 KEYBOARD INTROS OF ALL TIME Tonight we stumbled through chatting about some relaxing timeless tunes from bands like: Stereo MC's, Captain Sensible, Murray Head, the Orb, the Style Council, Billy Joel, Weezer, Robert Cray, the Lemonhead's, the Mighty Lemon Drops and likely some others not mentioned here. Join us for some digital spin through an eclectic mix of fun with music. Always remember, you can join our super-secret mostly schitty committee - all it takes it to type in during the show "Pour Me Another Brother" Rock on.…
