Virginia is home to many federal employees, some of whom may see their jobs impacted by DOGE's effort to cut government waste. Virginia's Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears is currently the leading Republican in the governor's race, and she joins to discuss how DOGE could impact the race, her vision for the state, as well as hints about how she would campaign in a state that President Trump narrowly lost. President Trump has invoked the Alien and Sedition Acts, an 18th-century wartime law, to deport illegal immigrants believed to be part of Tren de Aragua, a dangerous Venezuelan prison gang. The law gives the President the authority to deport foreign nationals during wartime, and the deportation of several Venezuelans is already facing legal challenges from federal courts.
