She is the co-founder of My Emotions Matter, an organization working to create a more self-aware and empathetic world by allowing people to navigate the complexities of the world with awareness, intention, and purpose. She is doing her PhD in Educational Leadership- which focuses on exploring the role of emotions and Emotional Intelligence in Leadership. As an educator, writer, and researcher, she has worked with students and working professionals from various backgrounds and has an experience with one of the key aspects of mental health/well-being, which is emotions. She has joined us today from DC where she is conducting research and working on a policy brief to help foster emotional literacy for educational equity in Nepal as an Echidna Global Scholar. She is a developmental psychologist who works as a mental health and disability support worker in Kathmandu. She currently works with children, young people, and adults through therapeutic conversations using a narrative approach and is a consultant, teacher and supervisor of the Narrative Practices. With over 15 years of experience, Prathama formerly worked as Mental Health and Inclusion & Access Support coordinator for high school students and in humanitarian contexts in post conflict and disaster situations. She has a Master's & PhD in Developmental Psychology from Université Paul-Valéry, Montpellier, France and a Master’s in Psychology from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. Why some people come forward with their story while others don’t. As we got to know her and all of her contributions in the subject of Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, she opened up about her own story of sexual abuse at the age of 4. Getting to know her story and what she went through gave us a clear idea of what it means to a survivor when they go through sexual abuse and the impact it has on them. Astrology, MBTI personality test and Enneagram are not at all scientific! But the number of people who believe in these narratives are just mind-boggling.🤯 Some people find solace in dwelling on these quizzes that help them better understand themselves and they love it when these charts predict their future! Some companies also use them to recruit employees! 😮 But others argue that though these tests might explain some theories, they have no scientific validity 🤷‍♀️ Given all of this information, do we believe in them or stay away?
