With Istana Negara having extended the deadline for the main coalitions to present their respective numbers and candidates for Prime Minister by 22 November, we explore what are the obligations of the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, as spelled out in the Federal Constitution, when faced with a hung Parliament. Constitutional lawyer New Sin Yew joins us to explain, and also clarifies what the Federal Constitution says about the role of the monarchy in appointing a Prime Minister.
