For episode 40, we look at if WWE and AEW promos are going too far? Are the promos bringing too much personal life into the storylines/angles? Does the heat (reactions) they garner good or bad? We discuss the Cody Rhodes/Paul Heyman promo from WWE Monday Night Raw; Paul asking a seemingly untested main eventer Cody if he is ready to only be home sixty (60) days a year if he defeats Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania; and Heyman saying he'll keep Cody's wife Brandi Rhodes company in Cody's absence. We also look at the MJF (Maxwell Jacob Friedman) and Bryan Danielson promo from AEW Dynamite; Max being upset over not having anyone care about him and being jealous of Bryan for choosing wrestling over his own family; with Max even going so far as to taunt Bryan's children. We ultimately figure out if getting too personal is good - making fans more invested in each combatant/story; bad - making fans uncomfortable; or just make the fans tune out as the heel (bad guy) just wants to get a reaction no matter how it's perceived.
