For the first episode of season three, Ciarán talks to educator and Irish examiner journalist Jenny Horgan. Jenny shares her views and opinions on the irish education system where she expresses concerns about how the curriculum prepares young people for the demands of adult life. In addition, Jenny highlights challenges teachers face with regard to resources available to support them to deliver best practices, and puts forward her idealistic education model that will help serve students better.
Jenny has put pen to paper and written a book on the topic she is clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about: ‘O Captain, My Captain’: One Teacher’s Call for Change in the Irish Education. Available on amazon.
