In this edition of Outpatient Surgery Magazine’s podcast series, we welcome Julia Scotti, a nationally touring comedian and motivational speaker who has appeared on Comedy Central, Showtime and NBC’s hit show “America’s Got Talent,” where she came out as Transgender to millions of AGT viewer during the first of her several appearances on the prime-time program. Ms. Scotti talks about her upcoming presentation at the 2022 OR Excellence Conference in Orlando, Fla., which is titled “Resilience in the Face of Adversity” – and so much more.
In a wide-ranging and engaging conversation, Ms. Scotti discusses everything from her personal experiences undergoing a gender-affirming surgery more than 20 years ago to how she managed to get through a pandemic that essentially shut down her livelihood.
