Its the fifth episode of Public Media Daily and the final one for the week. Highlights for Thursday, April 19th include...

1) Ozarks Public Television's transmitter tower collapsed, killing one and injured six others. Transmitter work was done because of the upcoming FCC Spectrum Repack. OPTV is scrambling to get satellite and over-the-air viewers back on.

2) The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) is requesting for an additional $10 million in federal funding, starting in FY21.

3) NPR's Mary-Louise Kelly, NPR and public radio women have won several Gracie awards for their work, one including Mary-Louise's interview with NPR CEO Jarl Mohn after the sexual harassment allegations against NPR surfaced.

4) WCMZ-TV 28 Flint is going off-the-air Monday at Midnight. WDCQ-TV 19 (Q-TV) will remain as the PBS affiliate for Flint and all of Mid-Michigan. (WCMU Public Television will remain in the market via flagship WCMU-TV 14 Mount Pleasant, Mich.)

5) WCNY-FM's satellite station, 90.9 WJNY Watertown, is off-the-air due to a failure with a connection provider.
