Make money wisely

As to wealth, we need firstly to figure out the aims for making money, the relationships among humans, between humans and society. Then it follows how to correctly obtain and wisely use money.Otherwise, men will only become a tool for making money. The most fundamental aim of making money is to survive, to support the family. However, in modern society, many people attach the desire for honor, security, freedom and happiness etc. to wealth, having which is regarded as having everything and the absence of which is equaled to the absence all of these.

After careful consideration, we may findthat all these are directed to the mind, quite different from wealth itself.Wealth means nothing to a dark and empty mind; while one is possible to own allthese if one’s mind is bright and rich, even when one has to live a simple life with scanty wealth.

Secondly, to survive in the society, one relies not on money but on the direct or indirect labor and creation of countless people. Money is but a tool, a mark. Having internalized this point,what we should bear in mind while laboring for and utilizing the wealth we’ve obtained, is to benefit and repay the public, instead of speculating for our own gains and meeting our own desires.

Wealth is important for both individuals and the public but not that important, not the ultimate aim nor the only one.To sober up on this point, we would not easily become slaves of money.

对于财富，

首先要知道赚钱的目的是什么，

人与人、人与社会的关系是什么，

然后才能知道

怎么正确地获取和智慧地使用。

不然，

人就会变成只知道赚钱的一个工具。

赚钱，最基本的需求，

是为了生存、养家糊口，

在现代社会中，很多人把荣誉、安全、

自由、幸福等希求都附加于财富上，

认为拥有财富就拥有这一切，

没有财富就没有这一切。

但是仔细思考，

这些都是内心的命题，不等同于财富，

如果内心黑暗、空虚，

外在再富有，一样得不到；

如果内心光明、充实，

即使只能满足温饱，一样也能拥有。

其次，

人在社会上生存，靠的并不是钱，

而是无数人直接间接的劳动和创造，

钱只是表面上的一个工具、符号。

明白了这一点，

我们在劳动、付出、使用财富时，

内心就应该想着报恩，想着服务大众，

而不是只想着自己，只想着赚钱，

只想着满足自己的欲望。

财富对人和社会都是很重要的，

但不是最重要的，

不是根本目的，也不是唯一目的。

人应该清醒地认识到这一点，

才不会被财富所奴役。
