Sometimes we spend a lot of time and effort in doing certain practises that are more pleasing to us than to the One. Guru Nanak Dev Ji asks, 'what is it that we receive outside of grace?' The Guru gives us the understanding that everything comes from the One. Through the remembrance of the One (Simran), we can become aware of grace and through that, receive divine qualities.
