Today we have Dr. Michael Shea, an educator and author in the fields of Somatic Psychology and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy.
A series of conversations on the human connection, part 1: exploring meditation, mindfulness and healing.
Questions:
1. Can you define health and wholeness through the lens of mindfulness and meditation?
_Shea defines mindfulness as the exploration of ones experience and a way in which we learn to make friends with the totality of oneself.
_Mindfulness and meditation support that part of ourself that is flawless and inherently complete, has knowledge, and wisdom that is already built in our biology. This is the promise of meditation, the basis of who we are on an intrinsic level.
2. It's unfortunate that we as a species have developed these conflicts--the beliefs that we may be flawed at a core level. As a mind & body therapist can you expand on how these conflicts?
