Freedom of speech includes digital town square despite Fauci's of the world

Today's show open with a reminder that at the beginning of the year, I called social media the "digital town square." Similarly, Twitter's new CEO, Elon Musk, feels the exact same way. What makes social media unique is how they chose to collude with government to censor the free speech of Americans. This is a direct affront to our founding and those who perpetrated this wanton censorship should all be removed from their officies or positions.

Thanks to the ongoing lawsuit from AG's Jeff Landry and Eric Schmitt, we know Dr. Anthony Fauci's recent deposition shows a systemic U.S. censorship campaign. While a judge has (for now) sealed Fauci's deposition, it hasn't stopped the two AG's from sharing some insights on Twitter.

AG Landry stated, "Wow! It was amazing to spend 7 hours with Dr. Fauci. The man who single-handedly wrecked the U.S. economy based upon 'the science.' Only to discover that he can't recall practically anything dealing with his Covid response!" AG Schmitt added that Fauci had emailed a friend saying masks were ineffective, yet insisted they become mandated in April of 2020 "even though he couldn't cite a single study to prove it. Mandates followed – lives ruined. COVID tyranny is born."

What we already knew if we were already free-thinking and logical, is what got labeled "disinformation" early, turned out to be true; while those who purported to have all the answers were found to be wrong. The idea that the government can determine what is real information versus fake is laughable at best, but always dangerous. The quelling from free speech is exactly what leads to tyranny.

The Brownstone Institute wants to believe Musk will bring freedom of speech back to Twitter, but, for them, Twitter won't be free until all Covid dissidents who were locked down are restored. So far, it seems as though Musk is heading in the right direction. Employees at Twitter are calling it, "The Big Bang," as tens of thousands of accounts are already being reinstated. The exception will be for those who broke the law or engaged in excessive spam.

Keep in mind, the government has already gotten cozy with the idea of ignoring the first amendment. Some of the biggest spreaders of disinformation are still at work trying to clamp down on free speech. Remember Nina Jankowicz, the woman who resigned from the failed Disinformation Governance Board after all of her tweet propaganda was revealed. It seems she will be going to work for the Centre for Information Resilience, which is dedicated to countering disinformation, exposing human rights abuses and combating online behavior harmful to women and minorities."

Our own version of the Mistry of Truth may be gone, but those who implemented it have not changed their minds. The power to control the narrative is one that all Authoritarian regimes crave and, having tasted this power already, are not likely to stop.
