Senator Black was a Member of the Virginia House of Delegates and Virginia Senate for 16 years. Colonel Black spent 32 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and in the U.S. Army JAG Corps.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps officer and pilot in Vietnam. He flew 269 combat helicopter missions, and his aircraft was hit by ground fire on four flights. During ground combat with the 1st Marine Regiment, he was wounded and his radiomen were both killed.

Black is a fierce defender of constitutional rights and freedom. He successfully sued Governor Warner and blocked taxation by unelected bodies. He recently shut down the Loudoun County School Board meeting after the crowd exploded in applause when he criticized critical race theory and transgender policy.

Black enacted 117 bills, including Firearms Preemption, Parent’s Control of Minors’ Abortions, Banning Partial Birth Abortion, and the Financing the Rt. 28 Freeway Project. Colonel Black is a military and foreign affairs expert. He is an outspoken opponent of never-ending wars, and in 2015, was designated as an enemy by ISIS, which calls him “The American Crusader.”

He was a top attorney in the Pentagon, responsible for criminal justice and discipline throughout the U.S. Army.

He prepared Executive Orders for the President and testified before the United States Congress. Senator Black is an attorney certified to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a graduate the U.S. Army War College and the Army Command and General Staff College. He holds three Legions of Merit, the Purple Heart Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal with “V” for Valor, the Combat Action Ribbon, and two Presidential Unit Citations. He wears the Naval Aviator’s Wings of Gold.
