#91: Meat Mafia 100k Race Recap

**SFuels saved us during this race and single-handedly got us to the finish line on Saturday. We’re looking forward to continuing to experiment with low-carb endurance with a 70.3 Ironman in Waco in October.

Last Saturday, August 22nd, The Meat Mafia drove to Houston to test our meaty willpower and physical limits. And boy, did we get more than we asked for. We ran the Habanero 100k Race, appropriately named since it starts at noon in Houston (about 100 degrees at the start). As you’ll hear us describe, the race coordinators also thought it would be a good idea to lay down thousands of pounds of sand all over the course to make it more challenging.

Luckily for us, we fueled really well (thank you SFuels) and felt great through the first portion of the race!
