In this episode, I'm talking with James Owen Roberts who is an Amputee Empowerment Coach.
James is a TEDx speaker, and author and has represented his country at 4 World Championships and in 2 Paralympics.
This interview is slightly different from our usual episodes as the business element is very much a consequence rather than the main focus. However, the mindsets and attitudes are all very relevant to us all.
In our discussion, we explore:
- James' relationship with his condition and how his stubbornness enabled him to adapt to situations in order to make things work;
- his journey through sport, representing his country in three different disciplines; and
- the challenges, both physical and mental, of being an athlete.
And of course, we do find out how his experiences in sport – including dealing with the failures - set him up for success in business.
