Winning Ideas in the West Midlands: Worcester ft. Mike Foster
Manage episode 285386842 series 2782873
This week's episode kicks off our 'Winning Ideas in the West Midlands' series in collaboration with the West Midlands Young Fabians, focusing on different seats in the region which Labour once held and how we can win these areas back in 2024.
The first episode in this series is all about Worcester, a cathedral city and constituency in the heart of Worcestershire which was a Labour seat from 1997 - 2010 but has since been lost to the Tories. Nathan and Marie spoke to Mike Foster, former Labour MP for Worcester, about his time working in Worcester; the reasons behind his success in the constituency in 1997; his role in the fox hunting ban; the importance of overseas aid; and his thoughts on how to get Labour back to winning ways in the run-up to the next election.
