In episode 109 of GT247's Tigers in 20, host and lead writer Christian Fowler and GoTigers247 digital content creator Kenny Stubblefield break down Memphis' two-point win over Mississippi State and take a look ahead to this week's game against UTSA.

After an extremely fun game this past weekend, the GT247 crew had plenty to unpack from the win over the Bulldogs. Memphis struggled heavily in the first half of this game, but the resilience of team was on full display over the final 30 minutes.

Although Seth Henigan and Brandon Thomas had their moments in this game, Calvin Austin was the star of the show. Austin went over 100 yards receiving for the second consecutive games with two receiving touchdowns and one punt return touchdown.

With his 94-yard punt return in the fourth quarter, Austin was recognized as the American Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week. It was an extremely unusual (and controversial) play, but it allowed Memphis to take a two-score lead late in the game.

Throughout the episode, Fowler and Stubblefield break down Memphis' defensive performance and how well the offensive line held up against a solid Mississippi State defensive line.

Following the breakdown of Saturday's game, the duo moves on to the upcoming matchup against UTSA. When fans see this game, they'll probably think Memphis should win by 30-plus points. With a deeper look, though, the Roadrunners have a very solid team that is going to fight hard for four quarters.

Before ending the episode, the crew discusses what Memphis needs to do to defeat UTSA, and they also answer questions from the board.
