What Does The Bible Say?

In this episode, Arnie and Fred begin a discussion about the Lord's Supper. We begin by noting that Jesus instituted it at His Last Supper among His apostles during Passover right before His betrayal by Judas and arrest. We note that there are three accounts of it in the biographical books, in Matthew, Mark and Luke. We look at the accounts by asking five questions: Who, Where, What, How and Why? John's account does discuss other instructions Jesus gave to His apostles at that time, but does not discuss the Lord's Supper itself. It ends in prayer. Afterwards the eleven apostles, but not Judas who had left, went with Jesus to Gethsemane on the Mount of Olives. Finally, we talk about Paul's correction of the errors the church at Corinth were making in their observance of the Lord's Supper which were quite significant. In the next episode we will discuss the Lord's Supper observances by disciples in the first century as guided by the inspired apostles. Take about 30 minutes to follow along with our discussion.
