Reason is an aspect or a function of the mind. And the mind, will and emotions, in the New Testament [Greek] are called the soul. Jesus in John 3:6 said, the things of the spirit are spirit and the things of the flesh are flesh. Something of the soul can never be of the spirit. Therefore you cannot reason the scriptures and read the Bible by trying to reason out and mentally challenge what is being said. That's not how you handle the scriptures. The scriptures are a divine revelation according to themselves.
