Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. An At Home conversation with multi-instrumentalist, composer and co-founder of Irish American super group Sólas, Seamus Egan, who played traditional Irish instruments and chatted with folklorist Steve Winick about the importance of Mick Moloney and the Irish music scenes of Philadelphia and New York throughout his career, as well as the serendipitous genesis of co-writing the soundtrack to "The Brothers McMullen" with Sarah McLachlan.
