The Amsterdam-based Klaas Boomsma is a marathon runner and journalist who knocked his alcohol and drug addiction on its head ten years ago. At the age of 37, he came to the conclusion that his life had officially failed. There he was, 37 years old, among addicts in an addiction treatment center in South Africa. In his own words, he didn’t become a successful lawyer or a journalist, no he was a failure, a liar, an actor and a loser.
