48:44On this episode of the Berkeley Technology Law Journal, we sat down with Professor Rebecca Wexler to discuss the intersection between reproductive justice and data privacy. In June 2022, the Supreme Court issued a ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. Dobbs overturned Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey's holdings that the US Constitution grants a right to an abortion. Shortly thereafter, Professor Wexler co-authored with Professor Aziz Huq an article in the New York University Law Review titled “Digital Privacy for Reproductive Choice in the Post-Roe Era. Today, Professor Wexler reflects on that piece and on the need for an evidentiary privilege to shield reproductive data from use in criminal investigations. We hope you enjoy the podcast.
