Perhaps you did not know, but even YOUR very own kitchen contains many common foods that may be hazardous to your health or even fatal. Even if most foods are actually safe, just one food that is deadly or dangerous can kill you. So today we have more knowledge and safety precautions that protect us from dangerous or fatal foods.
But what about 100,000 years ago when this knowledge was missing and there were no safety measures? How did we survive surrounded by deadly foods that were waiting to poison us? Humans and many other animals are genetically “hardwired” to avoid harmful foods through taste aversion. This reaction allows us to quickly develop a dislike for some food that lasts for months, years, or your whole lifetime.
I am absolutely disgusted by zucchini. I cannot eat it in a box, or with a fox, or here or there, or anywhere. You can cover it with chocolate, or cheese sauce, or savoury spices, or deep fry it but it will always be my mortal enemy.
