Our first series, The Essence of Louisiana's Exonerations follows the legal ups and downs of a black man and his lawyers to hold State Prosecutors and the District Attorney responsible for landing him in prison and on death row for years for crimes he wasn't responsible for.
This exoneration case is a devasting measure of just how far behind we are from where Dr. King and all the others in the civil/human rights movements envisioned for us.
It is truly one of many exonerations in Louisiana that begs the question: Why does Louisiana seem to think so little of African Americans, their movements, holidays, leadership, tourism and voters?
