After warning about not practicing witchcraft, warning about rising before the elderly and those with authority doesn't seem on the same level, but it does show the significance of showing honor. Sorcery is about exalting yourself, while showing respect to whom respect is due is about humbling yourself. It is easy to forget that it is the meek who will inherit the earth. Meekness is about howing respect not only to those who are due honor, but even respecting the person of the stranger. There is a duty to be just to everyone and to especially work to be just to those who do not have any power to protect themselves. Then before concluding how to be a holy people, God stresses the need for true weights and measures. It is always the easiest way to rob from those who cannot protect themselves. It is why so many people are angry about inflation, because at some level, they understand the attack that it is on the powerless. Those who trust in God, they do not prey on the weak, because they understand that they regardless of their earthly power, are the weak, because God is almighty.
