A Venezuelan Dream in Arlington
Maria Allen arrived in Arlington, Texas, with nothing but hope and determination. Leaving behind the economic turmoil of Venezuela, she faced the daunting challenges of a new country: a foreign language, unfamiliar customs, and the struggle to find the Job.
Despite the obstacles, Maria persevered. She took English classes at night at the Arlington library while working a low-wage jobs during the day. Slowly but surely, she started a small business to provide help during high season in the hospitality industry. She spotted a gap in the market for temporary staffing in a city which was planning to become the entertainment city. With her husband's support and some savings, she opened Done Staffing.
The business thrived, expanding into one of the most solid staffing agencies. Today, Maria is a successful business owner, happily married, and the proud mother of two children. Her journey from immigrant to entrepreneur embodies the American dream she once only imagined.
