And Then They Were Gone

At 10:45 am on June 13, 2001, 19-year-old Jason Jolkowski was seen outside his family’s home in Omaha, Nebraska, helping his younger brother bring in the trash cans. He was scheduled to work that day at a local Fazoli’s restaurant. But because his car was in the shop, Jason had arranged for a coworker to pick him up at his old high school—just eight blocks away. He told his family he was heading out. He never made it to the school. He never made it to work. And he was never seen again. There were no witnesses. No security footage. No clues. Just a young man who vanished in the middle of a sunny day, in a quiet residential neighborhood, during a walk that should’ve taken ten minutes. If you have any information about the disappearance of Jason Jolkowski, please contact the Omaha Police Department at (402) 444-5818. And Then They Were Gone

October 24, 1953 was a typical fall Friday night in La Crosse, Wisconsin. La Crosse State College was playing their homecoming game, and families and students filled the stands. Fifteen-year-old Evelyn Hartley was supposed to be at that game too, but at the last minute, she agreed to help a family friend and babysit their toddler so the parents could go to the game themselves. She brought her schoolbooks and planned to spend the night studying after the baby went to bed. It was supposed to be a quiet evening, and an opportunity for Evelyn to make some extra money. But when Evelyn’s father tried to call her later that night and didn’t get an answer, something didn’t sit right with him. He got in his car and drove over to the house where she was babysitting. What he found wasn’t just unsettling—it was a scene that would spark one of the most intense missing persons investigations in Wisconsin's history. Anyone with any information about Evelyn Hartley’s disappearance is urged to call the La Crosse Police Department at 608-785-5962. On August 27, 2006, two-year-old Trenton Duckett was tucked safely into bed at his home in Leesburg, Florida. She immediately called 911, launching a frantic search for the missing toddler. But as investigators dug deeper, Melinda's story began to fall apart, and in its place was deception, a bitter custody dispute, and a mystery that remains unsolved to this day. On May 12, 2018, 65-year-old Stephanie Tyson left her home, her car, and her belongings. She apparently set off on foot in the woods near the Graysville, Tennessee home that she had been sharing with her boyfriend, Wayne Griffith. A massive search ensued, but it was called off after authorities determined that she didn’t want to be found. Is Stephanie a survivalist who left on her own accord to start a new life in the Tennessee wilderness? Or, as her friends and family suspect, did something much worse happen to Stephanie? If you have any information on Stephanie’s disappearance, please contact the Bledsoe County Sheriff’s Department at (423) 447-2197. And Then They Were Gone

When Tyler Goodrich’s husband, Marshall Vogel, asked him what his perfect night would be, Tyler said, “A movie night with our kids and pizza and just hanging out.” So that’s how they decided to spend the evening of November 3, 2023. Tyler picked up a pizza from Costco on his way home from work around 5:30 and settled in for a movie with Marshall and their youngest son. But just two hours later, Tyler and Marshall got into an argument, and Tyler left the house. He hasn’t been seen since. Tyler has now been missing for over a year, and not one scrap of physical evidence has been found. How did a strong, healthy, 35-year-old man with a huge network of friends and family who loved him, simply vanish without a trace? Did he decide to disappear, or did something much worse happen to Tyler Goodrich? If you have any information on Tyler’s whereabouts, please contact the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office at 402-441-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600. And Then They Were Gone

Late in the evening of September 13, 2010, 19-year-old Samantha Clarke was dressed in her pajamas and watching TV with her younger brother in their Orange, Virginia home. But after receiving a call, she told her brother she was going out and would be back in the morning. Samantha left her home, and has never been seen again. Police had few clues to work with, but did zero in on a person of interest almost immediately. However, a lack of evidence made the case go cold. Then, 3 years later, another teenager disappeared just miles away, and police were certain the two crimes were connected. Everything seemed to be falling into place, but now, over 14 years since she was last seen, answers in Samantha’s case remain elusive. A break in her case seems just over the horizon– the question is, who will deliver it? Anyone with more information on Samantha Clarke’s disappearance is asked to contact the Orange Police Department at (540) 672-1491. A kidnapping happens in broad daylight in front of thousands of witnesses, but no one knows it’s a kidnapping. That’s what happened when a man abducted family friends, 11-year-old Joane Ratcliffe and 4-year-old Kirste Gordon from an Australian Rules football match on August 25, 1973. The stands were packed at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide Australia, with over 10,000 fans in attendance. Many of those there saw a middle-aged man in a wide-brimmed hat take the two girls, but said nothing, assuming that he was their father. Over 50 years have passed, and after decades of investigation and thousands of leads, recent breakthroughs have led to two extremely strong and chillingly similar suspects. Is one of Australia’s most infamous unsolved crimes close to a resolution? If you have any information which may assist both families and police to locate Kirste and Joanne, please make contact with Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 Play Texas Advocacy Project's The Big Game! On February 5, 2025, the Quapaw Nation Marshal Service announced that remains found in Picher, Oklahoma, on January 31, 2025 were positively identified as Aubrey Dameron. Picher is about 35 miles from where Aubrey was last seen in Grove, Oklahoma. We'll keep you updated as more information is announced, but in the meantime, we're re-releasing our original episode on Aubrey's case from 2023. --------- Transgender people are over four times more likely to be the victim of a violent crime than their cisgender counterparts. The rates of murder, rape, and violent crime of Indigenous people are all higher than the national average. In fact, according to the CDC, indigenous females experienced the second-highest rate of homicide in 2020. Aubrey Dameron is a transgender woman of Cherokee descent. On March 9, 2019, she walked out of her mother’s home in Grove, Oklahoma. Her phone stopped pinging 100 feet away, and she hasn’t been seen since. Aubrey’s disappearance highlights the struggles that trans people face in general, as well as the specific struggles she had within her own community and family. Was Aubrey’s disappearance related to her “lifestyle,” as police claim, or was it someone close to her who made Aubrey disappear? Anyone with information on the disappearance of Aubrey Dameron is asked to call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or go online at https://tips.fbi.gov/ . You can also call the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service at 918-207-3800. And Then They Were Gone

On June 27, 1995, 27-year-old Jodi Huisentruit was late for work. This wasn’t too shocking, as she anchored the morning news show for KIMT in Mason City Iowa, and usually had to be at the studio by 3:30 am. Oversleeping wasn’t uncommon, which is one of the reasons Jodi lived so close to work. When her co-worker Amy called Jodi, she found that the anchor had, in fact, overslept, but was on her way. Except Jodi never arrived. Hours went by, and Amy knew something was wrong. Once police arrived at Jodi’s apartment complex, they saw a terrifying scene. Jodi was gone, and it was clear she didn’t leave on her own. An investigation ensued, but despite media coverage and law enforcement efforts, Jodi’s case went cold. There have been many theories over the years, but now, nearly 30 years after Jodi Huisentruit’s disappearance, could we finally be getting closer to the truth? Anyone with information on Jodi Huisentruit's disappearance is urged to call the Mason City Police Department at 515-421-3636.
