Send us a text I'm currently in a rehabilitation facility after experiencing a psoas impingement in my right leg, a painful complication related to my cerebral palsy and recent knee surgery. The impingement, causing my leg to not fully extend to the ground, came after breaking my femur which required six weeks of non-weight bearing and triggered CP-related muscle tone issues. • Explaining my journey from knee surgery to emergency room visit to current rehabilitation • Detailing the psoas impingement condition and how it's affecting my mobility • Undergoing intensive physical and occupational therapy six days a week • Preparing for possible surgery if the impingement doesn't resolve naturally • Dealing with insurance requirements to try all conservative treatments first • Managing muscle spasms alongside the impingement • Finding parallels with sciatica and understanding that pain more deeply now • Maintaining positive spirits despite unexpected health challenges • Looking forward to eventually returning home with improved mobility Thank you for following us, and hopefully I'll be back home and back to normal when we catch up next week. Send us a text After multiple hospitalizations for C-diff infection, I'm finally getting a fecal transplant procedure to restore my gut health and reclaim my energy. I'm also returning to school on August 18th to complete my communications degree with an emphasis in new media, which will support both my growing podcast and my ultimate goal of becoming an Episcopal priest specializing in disability ministries. • C-diff (Clostridioides difficile) is a highly contagious bacterial infection in the colon that has severely impacted my energy • My treatment will involve a stool transplant via either enema or colonoscopy (definitely NOT the capsule method!) • Returning to school for a communications degree with new media emphasis to support podcast growth • Planning to become an Episcopal priest specializing in disability ministry after completing my degree • Will continue podcast work and Episcopal Church Disabled Concerns Committee involvement while studying • We'll take a brief podcast break during my assistant Danielle's "huge play camp" week • Despite being an auditory learner who struggles with reading/typing, I'm determined to succeed in my studies Thank you for following us, and we'll hopefully see you next week! After being rushed to the hospital following what I thought was just a C. diff recurrence, I received the life-altering news that I now have pancolitis and am permanently colonized with C. diff bacteria. This episode takes you through my medical journey and the profound decisions that followed. The unpredictable nature of chronic C. diff means traditional employment is no longer viable for me, leading to my official retirement from the workforce. But rather than viewing this as the end of something, I'm embracing new beginnings – pivoting to full-time content creation and returning to school in August to pursue an entirely unexpected degree program.
