The World Health Organization has declared mpox a global emergency for the second time in three years, bringing more attention and resources to the outbreak. The Sudan cease-fire talks are in their second day in Geneva, despite the absence of the Sudanese army. In Chad, officials are asking for international assistance to save thousands of people from persistent flooding, while officials in neighboring Cameroon are seeking help to cope with the opposite problem – severe drought.
