Welcome to Episode 7: Jennifer Hawkins – Trusted Advisor. In this episode Ryan and Bryon are bridging the gap with Jennifer Hawkins with Hawkins-Poe Real Estate Services. Jennifer will give us insights into the current real estate market and provide tips for new home buyers looking to get into the market and share some amazing and fun stories from her time in real estate.

Who is Jennifer Hawkins?

3rd generation real estate agent. Her grandfather started family business in 1946. Jennifer is in her 21st year of real estate. Also cool fact, her Grandfather started what is today the multiple listing service for our area. Jennifer takes the trusted advisor approach to her business. Relationships and education are the benchmarks of her business and it is really important to be a good listener to your clients.

How did you get your start in Real Estate?
Started learning from her Dad and Grandfather. Jennifer and her sister have now taken over the family business and are working on bringing in quality people to be ready to scale while providing a high level of service.

Goals for 2024?
Prepare to be able to scale as volumes increase. The challenge is maintaining a high level of customer service.

Q&A Session
Insights into current market (millennials and boomers) – Boomers now have enough equity that they are able to not have to compete with entry level buyers. Boomers take longer to make decisions and in markets with low inventory it makes it more challenging to have to get an offer in fast. For millennials, the challenge has been there seems to be fear around purchasing a home due to the prices. Advice is to buy now before rates come down lower and more buyers are competing for less homes again.

Advice for new agents?
Don’t try to do it all. Know what your strengths are and focus on the basics like filling out contracts correctly. Lean on Title Companies, senior brokers in your office and lending partners to help you navigate the first few years in the business. You also don’t need to know it all.

Advice for new buyers?
Don’t try to chase the rates down or the values down. Stop listening to mass media. Your home journey is yours and yours alone and when it is the right time, don’t hesitate to purchase.

Advice for lending partners?
Collaboration and education are key.
