Last week, we spoke about the 4 KYCs to build your business.
This week we explore the 1st of the KYCs - Know your Company!
This episode of "Knowing your Company" asks you to look within the company, defining the foundational components - Vision, Mission & Values - and letting these drive the strategy, operations and transactions of your company.
Following the example of ocean-going vessels and how the different vessels have different capabilities and different objectives based on these capabilities;
We look at how "Seeing with your Heart (Vision) and Listening with your Mind (Mission)" can help you resolve multiple queries and make the right decisions to build your Empactful Organisation.
Finally, we explore the concept of how "Unique is your USP" and how companies can identify their company's differentiators through a 4-level filtration test. We urge our listeners to try this for themselves.
First, they need to make a list of differentiators, and any other uniques aspects and strengths that they think make them stand out in the marketplace.
Then they need to put each aspect or a related combination through the following 4 questions. As we pass each level, aspects that do not meet the criteria of the question/level are left out for the next level.
Level 1: Does this aspect deliver actual value or benefit to both your customers and your company.
Level 2: Is the aspect or feature rare to find or develop in the market – how easy or difficult would it be for a competitor to develop that aspect or feature within their company.
Level 3: Is this aspect, or the value delivered easy to imitate or replicate by the competition (as stated in level 1).
Level 4: Is your company able to fully use, develop and further grow this aspect or feature – do you have the right organization, structure, values, and policies that allow the company to fully use this aspect
