In the latest episode of the “Best Coast Boys” podcast, hosts Landon McCool and John Owning dive into the Cowboys’ offseason by discussing the recent week of OTAs while playing a new game.

After the pleasantries, the guys dive into the latest news and notes from the Cowboys offseason. After that, John details why he wouldn’t be surprised if Tavon Austin is cut. Landon then makes the bold prediction that Kerry Hyder will be the Week 1 starter at left defensive end because DeMarcus Lawrence isn’t ready for full time play yet

Then John details why he hopes that Randy Gregory will be reinstated by the NFL. John details what Gregory’s return could mean for the Cowboys while Landon agrees. Landon then discusses why he hopes that Kellen Moore will change the way the offense is called. He believes the Cowboys already have the right plays in the playbook, they just need to be dressed up differently and used in the proper situations.

After that, John discusses why he dreads Jeff Heath as the starting strong safety. John laments on Heath’s tackling ability and why he’d prefer George Iloka as the starter. Landon then said that he dreaded the Cowboys having a slow start to the season.

To finish the show, John discusses why he doesn’t think Jason Witten will play all 16 and Landon notes why he’d be shocked if Jason Garrett would be fired during the season.
