Episode 18: Bessie Coleman
Manage episode 410052704 series 3565844
Hello and welcome back to Breakfast with Mom.
Today we talk about Bessie Coleman. Bessie Coleman was a pioneering African American aviator. She was born on January 26, 1892, in Texas. Bessie Coleman faced racial and gender discrimination but was determined to become a pilot. She moved to France to pursue her dream since flight schools in the United States wouldn't admit her due to her race and gender. Her legacy continues as an inspiration to aspiring aviators and as a symbol of breaking barriers in aviation history.
