Anjalina Chugani on A Life Through Food
Manage episode 398353500 series 2867209
In this episode we sit with, Anjalina (Anjali) Chugani, a renowned Barcelona based chef, recipe developer and author. She describes herself as a 'timid girl' and bookworm born in London who flourished in her formative years growing up in Bangalore. In recent decades, she's been actively running events and initiatives to teach Spain about Indian cooking.
We talk about how cooking was never a passion for Anjalina growing up, and started as more of an obligation when she got married and moved to Barcelona. However, somewhere along the way she found her voice in it and now uses it to empower herself and others to explore their love for cooking. We also talk about the misconception around Indian food being unhealthy, as well as the benefits of looking at food from an ayurvedic perspective.
These very topics are also covered in her new cookbook 'RASA' - the recipe book she wishes she'd written first, where she talks about each dish in the context of her life and journey.
