The Church of Laodicea was a wealthy church in a wealthy city. Unfortunately, this led them to the dangerous idol of self-sufficiency.
There is a clear warning for the American church in this poignant letter. A lukewarm spirit can easily permeate the church when she looks somewhere other than the LORD for her needs.
