Instead, my buddy, John, joined my Dad and I as we navigated the wrong side of San Francisco Bay, got lost in Reno, and traversed the 'Loneliest Road in America' on US Route 50.

Whether it was dealing with a twenty-year-old car gasping up the mountains or driving across the flat land of Kansas in the summer heat, every moment was a shared experience.
