Nuestra invitada a esta conversación es Rebeca Lane (Rebeca Eunice Vargas Tamayac), quien se dedica al rap, y al activismo feminista dentro de la cultura hip-hop. Durante la conversación ella nos lleva por un recorrido que hace una mirada crítica a la generación de conocimiento proveniente de la academia la cual históricamente ha tendido a ser extractivista y alejada a las realidades cotidianas de la gente. En contraste, Rebeca ilustra como con su propia práctica dentro del hip-hop, ella ha podido tener un acercamiento a la realidad social por medio de la vinculación de su historia personal con relatos sociales más amplios. Al final del recorrido, hablamos del caos como forma de organización emergente y cómo el orden es un esfuerzo humano de controlar lo incontrolable, lo cual termina haciéndolo obsoleto.

Our guest in this conversation is Rebeca Lane (Rebeca Eunice Vargas Tamayac), a rapper devoted to feminist activism within hip-hop culture. Rebeca also uses the tools of hip-hop facilitating workshops where she shares her musical knowledge for popular and personal communication, as a way to make visible and confront what we want to fight for and transform. During the conversation, she takes us on a journey that makes a critical look at the generation of knowledge from the academy, which historically has had a tendency to be extractivist and detached from people's everyday realities. In contrast, Rebeca illustrates with her own practice within hip-hop, how she has been able to approach social reality by linking her personal history with broader social narratives. At the end of the journey, we talk about chaos as an emergent form of organization and how order is a human effort to control the uncontrollable, which is why it is obsolete.
