Mom-Shaming: criticizing or degrading a mother for her parenting choices because they differ from the choices the shamer would make (Urban Dictionary) • Raise your hand 🙋🏼‍♀️ if you’ve been personally victimized by mom shaming (like mean girls, but for moms). More likely, raise your hand if you’re a human being. Because it’s happened to us all at one point or another. If you want to learn more about mom-shaming and what it looks like, you’re welcome. I also cover a mix of underlying issues that provoke a person to become a “shamer.” My goal isn’t to draw lines and create an “us” vs “them” vibe because a)the lines are too blurry to see sometimes and b)I’m far more interested in breaking down walls and barriers than I am in reinforcing them.
