Alison is joined by upright and electric bassist Brad Hallen. Brad has been one of the busiest working bass players in the Boston area and beyond since the 70’s! He has recorded and toured nationally and internationally with the likes of Ministry, Susan Tedeshi, Aimee Mann, Johnny Winter, Roomful of Blues and countless other great musicians. Brad's bass playing supported tours opening for the Police, Culture Club and Madness. Brad Hallen speaks wisdom when he says, “you have to keep a beginners mind” and “that it’s the connection that brings us back to the music.” Brad shares gems with us when he says, “practice makes practice’ and that “having a practice is the most important thing as a human being" In this episode, Alison and Brad talk about the roots of bass playing and what it means to find connection in the world through music.
