The Georgia State Election Board approved a new rule on Friday requiring counties to hand-count the number of ballots cast at polling stations on election day. Also on Friday, the acting director of the Secret Service admitted that a breach of protocol occurred before the first assassination attempt, saying the employees involved “will be held accountable.” Israel launched a rare airstrike into a suburban area of Beirut on Friday, killing a senior Hezbollah military official.
