Manage episode 364189744 series 3464579
This is the Find a Way Podcast - Where we talk to immigrant founders about their journey starting a business in Canada and the US.
Shahed is originally from Iran and moved to Canada in 1997 with his family.
He started his first business in 1999 as a college dropout and was acquired in 2000. The company that acquired them then became a victim of the dot-com bubble burst leading him to take a second stab at entrepreneurship in 2011.By end of 2012, he decided to put that aside and commit full-time to a Vancouver based company called ACL that was going through a transition with a newly hired CEO.
From 2012 to 2020 we went through the journey of building a unicorn by converting the existing revenue from perpetual to recurring, expanding their total addressable market and its revenue from well under $10M to $100M. Based on that experience he’s created a framework to help technology companies nail their product positioning and create alignment between revenue teams and product development. He helps startups to put that in place to scale their go-to-market initiatives.
