Exploring Transactional Analysis: Understanding the Dynamics of Ego States
Manage episode 363564663 series 2895319
Jenni and Suze continue to learn more about psychological theory that helps us understand our thinking. They move into the 1970s with Transactional Analysis (TA), as it relates to Freud’s theory of personality they recently discussed.
TA has more user-friendly terms that help people understand what goes on inside them, as well as what happens when they interact with other people. The way we talk to each other can illicit reactions in each other, often resulting in reactions instead of thoughtful actions.
But we can be more objective and feel more aware and in control of our thoughts, which influence what our emotions are and how intense they are. Suze and Jenni agree to practice the new Maxer Method to help integrate the knowledge into their everyday lives.
