The San Francisco Giants fell to the Miami Marlins tonight at Oracle Park, final score 4-3. Mason Black got the start for the San Francisco Giants and he pitched great in his return from AAA. He spun five innings while striking out six and walking none, but also gave up two runs on Griffin Conine's first career big league home run before exiting. A bad call in the 7th inning that went against the San Francisco Giants ultimately played a huge role in the outcome tonight, as Tyler Fitzgerald was ruled to be in the basepath of the Marlin's baserunner attempting to steal 2nd base. The runner was clearly out on the play, and Fitzgerald did not appear to be impeding his progress. Nonetheless, the runner was ruled safe and later scored in the inning without a hit from the Miami Marlins offense.
