E8 - Helen Filipe
Manage episode 320550456 series 3013082
With the power of some tweets, and a few steps in between - Helen Filipe took her admiration for Oprah Winfrey to the next level - eventually meeting her idol and becoming an official ambassador for the Oprah Winfrey Network. With a background in education, a thriving new local business (Azul Educational Services) and a commitment to serving the people around her, she is undoubtedly a stellar community member. In today’s episode, I sit down with Helen to talk about her experiences, volunteer work and the role of women in home and family.
This episode's Lorne Park Local Legends - the participants and donors of the Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser - a winterrific family-friendly walk to raise money for local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.
