John Russon, contemporary Canadian philosopher, states, “the development of habits is essentially the development of our bodily behavior to a state in which the pattern of behavior has become sufficiently familiar to function automatically” (The Human Experience, 2003, p. 29). The most influential myth about sexual offenders is the erroneous generalization, “once a sex offender, always a sex offender.” This clichéd catch phrase suggests that sexual offenders are forever broken.
