The Thing About Moving To Nashville, with Alee
Manage episode 358577485 series 3301685
Alee first popped onto the country music scene with singles like “Only The Strong Survive”, “Don’t Say You Love Me”, and “Moonshine”. Earning multiple CCMA and CMAB nominations, along with multiple Top 20 singles are just some of the highlights of Alee’s career.
We sat down with Alee to recap some of her finest moments, including door-knocking on radio programmer’s doors with her CDs (teaching us the fine line between persistence and harassment), working construction, and finally deciding to make the move to Nashville.
Alee is a classically trained pianist who didn’t pick up the guitar until a little later. She talked about songwriting on both instruments and finding her home at the piano.
Alee’s newest single “Love Songs” has an interesting story behind its inspiration. She told the story for TikTok of how she was playing “When You Say Nothing At All” and mid-song a woman interrupted and said she would pay her to stop playing.
Why did she do that?
You’ll have to tune into the episode where she tells us the full story.
