New York City-based percussionist, performer, educator, and composer Pauline Roberts stops by to talk about her performance activities in the area (04:00), her freelancing and teaching schedule, traveling around for gigs, and dealing with sexism in the music industry (19:00), growing up in Buenos Aires (and Australia), her supportive parents, dabbling in various music scenes, Argentina’s rock music scene, and her sports background (36:30), her undergrad years at the National University of the Arts in Argentina and her experiences during the pandemic (59:20), her grad school years doing a master’s in the performer/composer degree from the New School (NY) (01:10:50), and takes on the Random Ass Questions, including segments on being a woman in the arts, soccer in Argentina, Björk, Fleabag, and Ted Lasso (01:20:50).
