What does it mean to be a pre-service teacher in the midst of a global pandemic? If you are PEBC Teacher Residency it means learning alongside mentor teachers from day one, establishing connections with colleagues, and deep study of the PEBC Teaching Framework just like you would in any year. Residents and mentors engage in professional learning of the PEBC Teaching Framework together via parallel pedagogy... meaning that the residents and mentors engage in the type of learning that they are crafting for their students. Then they collaborate on ways to implement the nuances of planning, community, workshop, thinking strategies, discourse, and assessment into their classrooms in ways that meet the needs of their students regardless of grade level, content area. or geographic location.
